Erin's God Story
I must admit, I have been
inspired. In the course of the last two hours, I have read two amazing God
stories due to our pastor’s challenge yesterday for us to share the things God
is doing in our life with each other. This made me want to share a God story.
My God story is not an
extravagant miracle in anyone else’s eyes probably, but in my eyes, there are
tears. I came up to Flagstaff
this year with a grand confidence, and ready to take on the world ( or campus).
Much to my dismay I found myself lonely, and with only one friend that i could
really talk to about anything. It hurt. I was a mess. Shortly after my lonely
spell started, I lost two different friends in separate accidents, within three
weeks. They were wonderful people and I miss them terribly, so not only was I
lonely, but I was scared, and angry, hurt, confused, and simply really sad. It
was at this point in my life that everything seemed to crumble in my hands, as
I tried to catch the crumbs. And that is where I am now.
You may ask, where the
God Story is, but thats because it is in each and every one of you. As I have
looked back this weekend, I have seen all the people that God has surrounded me
with that have blessed me in so many diversly different ways. One hello, or a
simple hug, has touched me. During that lonely spell, I also found God working,
as I drew so much closer to him, WHAT A BLESSING!!! He has carried me through
so much crap this semester, and it is a “beautiful tapestry” that continues to
be woven in his image. I am so blessed to have all of these people in my life.
The reflections started this weekend when the money for my parking ticket that
i couldn’t pay was mysteriously taped to my mirror. God is so good, and if we
let him in, he will hold you and most importantly, he will always love you.
